We are happy to announce the addition of several hours of Grandmaster Moy Yat videos to the Ving Tsun Museum Online Training Program.

The Details Of Wing Chun and Chi Sau Tsui Ma (Push Horse) have been added to the VTM Online Training Level 2: Chum Kiu video library.

How To Teach Wing Chun and What Is A Special Student? are specifically targeted at those who teach Wing Chun. These videos have been added to the VTM Special Presentations.

**UPDATE 5/16/12: We’ve just added Level 3 Chi Sau to your collection of the late Grandmaster Moy Yat’s video collection in Ving Tsun Museum’s Online Training Program.**

These videos were part of Grandmaster Moy Yat’s personal video collection. While the video quality is not as good as the other, more modern, VTM videos, the information they contain is priceless. Your knowledge and application of Wing Chun will be deeply enhanced by these additions to the Ving Tsun Museum Online Training Program.

You can get immediate access to all these new additions by enrolling in VTM’s Online Training here. Or, click here for individual video libraries.

“Grand Master Moy Yat was not only a martial artist, but a published author and recognized artist with creations in stone, oil on canvas, watercolor, metal, and glass. He produced many top-quality students who possess not only great physical skill but also great understanding of the concepts that guide the system. His unqiue genius was using Chan as a methodology to teach Wing Chun, and VTM research has shown that the origins of Wing Chun lie in Chan through the Shaolin Temple.” – Benny Meng

Huber Heights, OH – Grand Master Benny Meng and Meng’s Martial Arts celebrated their 25th anniversary in the martial arts and in business – and their growing international network of schools, with connections to schools in 10 countries with 1,000 students world-wide led by more than 40 instructors and instructor candidates.

In a 3-day celebration of martial arts, Grand Master Meng and his senior instructors – together with Grand Master Kenneth Lin of the Shaolin Hek Ki Boen system – conducted a series of 6 workshops including training in gun defense for adults, anti-abduction skills for children, martial arts conditioning, high-level power and strategy development, one-on-one self-defense skills, and personal motivation and goal setting skills.

Grand Master Meng is a recognized authority around the world, speaking and conducting seminars an average of 8-10 times a year internationally. He is the founder of the first martial arts museum in the United States: the Ving Tsun Museum, located at 5715 Brandt Pike. Meng is also a published author with numerous articles, DVDs, and books to his credit. He has conducted extensive research into the martial arts, traveling to the Far East in search of masters and grand masters of the ancient martial art skills. Here in Dayton, he has two schools – one in Huber Heights and one in Centerville – and a club at the Huber YMCA.

The highlight of the weekend was a student awards banquet and the celebration of Grand Master Meng’s 50th birthday. At the banquet, Grand Master Meng spoke about the culmination of his research and the development of a new system of martial arts: Hung Lung Sin Fu Faat Mun Paai (Empty Dragon Compassionate Tiger System). The Empty Dragon refers to the idea of Wisdom, or applying knowledge guided by compassion. The Compassionate Tiger refers to the idea of developing the skills of a warrior for a righteous cause. This system is the name Grand Master Meng uses to describe his research into the ancient Shaolin arts of the past in 6 stages: 3 Halls and 3 Chambers. The 3 Halls are focused on developing the total person – physically, mentally, and emotionally with all the skills of self-defense (kicks, strikes, sweeps, throws, controls, locks, submissions, etc.). In other words, the 3 Halls are about developing the martial arts as a tool to improve fitness, self-defense, character skills, leadership skills, and communication skills. The 3 Chambers are focused on the maturity of a person from a focus on themselves, to a focus on the larger world, to an understanding of Maximum Efficiency, which is the point or state where nothing can be added or subtracted without losing efficiency. By way of analogy, Grand Master Meng used the idea of a perfect circle to express Maximum Efficiency – once completed, a perfect circle cannot be improved upon. In a similar way, is it by living the process of learning to move from nowhere towards Maximum Efficiency that a person reaches their full potential.
